We make these healthy apple muffins loads. Like once a month and freeze in batches loads. They are perfect for snacks, lunchboxes and picnics and even better to share with friends. We all dig in to them and because they are low in sugar – I don’t mind one bit!
These muffins are so easy to make, my kiddo helps me to do it. My healthy apple and raisin muffins are perfect as they use things that we all have lying around in the kitchen. Maybe an apple slightly past it’s best, or some raisins that need using up.
We love cooking together (despite the mess) and I love how much my little one gets from the experience. Naming the ingredients, I have a few recipes on my site that are perfect for baking together – like my avocado brownies which are easy to measure and aren’t too complicated to put together. This is so important when you do cook with kids as the last thing you want is to be super stressed out before you begin!
From an educational point of view – the possibilities are endless. Loads of language development opportunities and motor skills development. For older kids, why not get them to write the recipe up and keep it in the kitchen for next time? Get your phone out and film them doing a little cooking show?
So here it is, my simple go-to recipe for healthy apple muffins
The muffins will freeze for at least a month. I like to put these in a little selection bag with my avo brownies and some homemade doughnuts that way we have lots of options ready and waiting for the week.
These muffins are sweet, tasty and a total must-try. Hope you love them as much as we do!
